SOP Title: Children’s Health Research Week Conference Planning
1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is to describe the standard procedures to be followed for planning and managing Children’s Health Research Week Conference (hereafter referred to as Research Week).
2. INTRODUCTION
Research Week is a multi-day conference focused on providing information to physicians and investigators for on-going research education. The Clinical Research Educator (CRE) coordinates the conference with Research Administration (RA) leadership. Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credits are sought to support on-going research education.
3. SCOPE
This SOP applies to all activities to plan and coordinate Research Week by the CRE.
This SOP does not apply to any additional educational offerings planned or coordinated by the CRE.
4. RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Administration Leadership
To work with the CRE to review plans, approve of speakers, and provide support for Research Week. Research Week committee and research educator will work collaboratively to plan, organize, and manage Research Week.
5. SPECIFIC PROCEDURE
5.1 Scope Research Week Planning Process
A. PlanningandPreparations
• The planning committee will meet as needed to discuss plans for Research Week.
• The planning committee will assess future plans of the conference (e.g., timing, length, location); identify potential speakers; and identify conference objectives to support CME/CNE applications.
• The CRE will post publicly registration for participants to register for individual days of Research Week to track metrics accurately.
• The CRE will ensure appropriate room and catering accommodations have been secured for the event.

• The CRE will complete applications for CME and CNE credit.
