SOP Title: Coordinating an Introduction with the PI
5.2 Making the Introductions
Successful integration of the newly assigned team member onto the research study or portfolio is carried out by executing the onboarding plan. Making the introductions of the newly assigned team member with their assigned PI is an important step in this integration:
1. Establish an outlook invitation to secure the introduction meeting with the PI for all stakeholders.
2. Prior to the introductory meeting, provide the team member(s) with the study status, the protocol and regulatory documents, and a brief background of the PI.
3. Follow AIDET, in order introduce the CRC/A(s) and the PI providing them both with each other’s background and experience.
4. Discuss the status of the study and the study details.
5. Discuss the next steps needed to move the study forward.
6. Provide the opportunity for the PI to define their expectations for the study time- course, enrolment, and the logistics of how they would like the study communication to be managed.
