ISA COORDINATOR’S REPORT
A balanced diet is key to healthy eating habits because it provides the children
with the nutrients they need to grow. Vitamins and minerals are as essential for
living as air and water. Not only do they keep body healthy and functional but
also protect from various diseases. Unfortunately children eat more of junk food
than nutritious food. Consumption of junk food by children has become a global
concern. It is moral duty of every school to instil in students the importance of
nutritious diet and make the children aware of ill-effects of junk food. With this
aim in view the teachers in-charge of the ISA project had arranged for a lecture
on importance of food and nutrition.
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” ~Jim Rohn
The teachers in-charge of the project tried their best to impress upon the above
quote on the young, impressionable minds.
The students formed food pyramid, a graphic illustration of good eating habits.
The purpose of this ISA activity was to make the children understand what to eat
and how much to eat. The students were made to explore cuisines, fruits,
vegetables of other countries through interesting, colourful and fun-filled
activities like fancy dress competition, making recipe book and menu card. All
the competitions were related to food and so they were healthy competitions in
the true sense of the term.
May God bestow the wealth of health on every child.
