Tan Cang– Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) was established in 2009 and officially has started operations in
January 2011 as a joint venture initiated by Saigon Newport Corporation - the biggest container terminal operator in
Vietnam and 3 well - known partners including Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Japan), Wan Hai Lines (Taiwan), originally Hanjin
Shipping and now Hanjin Transportation (Korea).
With the strategic location in Cai Mep –Thi Vai, TCIT can provide the high level of convenience for transshipment
containers to Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An and vice versa.
Terminal facilities are highly invested with main berth of 890 meters in length, 03 barge berths of 270 meters in length,
55 ha container yard with a capacity of 46,500 Teus. In addition, TCIT is equipped with all modern and environmentally
friendly equipment including 10 STS cranes, 22 e-RTG cranes, 03 dedicated cranes for barge operations, 76 tractors, 05
reach stackers and 05 empty container handlers along with cutting edge technology – TOPS (Terminal Operations
Package - System) provided by Realtime Business Soltuions - RBS/Australia.
