               An Example of Good Practice of Professional Cooperation

               between a Teacher of the Mechanical Engineering Subject
               Group and a Teacher of Child Health Care



               Learning as a process of acquiring knowledge and skills is one of the most important ways in
               which students get to know the world around them. In order for learning to be effective, students
               should be encouraged to progress and be given a sense of control over their own learning
               process. The traditional form of teaching imposes the same, dominantly frontal way of working
               on all students, without respecting their personalities, competencies, attitudes and thinking.
               Conveying the learned content to peers from other professions is one of the best ways to confirm
               whether the desired teaching content has been learned.
               Giving lectures and demonstrating practical works to peers from other professions and going to
               an unfamiliar environment always represents a challenge. By putting students in the role of
               lecturers for students who know very little or almost nothing about their profession, it gives
               importance, a sense of security and self-confidence in their own choice of profession. Teachers
               prepare  students  by  teaching  skills  in  the  office  before  working  directly  with  patients  and
               customers. This includes preparation for professional communication, professional appearance
               and  orderliness,  compliance  with  ethical  principles,  keeping  documentation,  protective
               measures at work and other features of the ethical code of the school and profession. A good
               psychosocial environment of the place where the exercises are performed will enable students
               to successfully overcome and overcome the negative effects and fears that may be caused by
               contact with a hitherto unknown situation and space. Nurses and other employees of pediatric
               clinics have highly developed empathy and communication skills, which are considered the
               basis of patient care. Car mechanics, car mechatronics and car body workers must also have
               developed  empathy  skills  and  communication  skills  with  future  customers  and  other  co-
               workers.  By  practicing  and  exchanging  experiences  with  different  professions,  it  is  only
               possible to strengthen all these competencies and promote future development and progress.
               During the skills exchange project organized by subject teachers, the students of the Electrical
               Engineering Vocational School and Vinogradska Nursing School acquire extended psychosocial
               skills by learning according to the model of direct presentation by their peers and participate in
               the popularization and connection of different branches of vocational education. In this way,
               students acquire an extremely positive attitude towards other professions, develop the concept
               of skills, empathy and professional communication.
