Simple Past

Definition

Simple past tense is a sentence used to tell about

events that happened in the past that were

completed at a certain time in the past.

Function

Describe activities that were usually

carried out in the past

ex : When I was in Senior High School, I went to school

at 07.00 a.m

Describe events in the past and have

been completed at that time

ex : I was sick two days ago

Describe events that were customary in

the past but are no longer carried out

ex : I used to love him, but not anymore
