Health and Human Behavior

                  Behavior

Behavior can be defined as the actions or reactions of a person in response to

                  external or internal stimulus situation

                  Human behavior

Human behavior refers to the way humans act and interact. It is based on and

influenced by several factors, such as genetic make-up, culture and individual

                  values and attitudes.

Health behavior can be described as the lifestyle or the behavior of

patients with a positive or negative impact on health. Lifestyle affects a patient’s

health, is related to the maintenance of his health, and may be related to causing

                  damage to his health.

Examples of how people’s actions can affect their health:

              1. Using mosquito nets and insect sprays helps to keep mosquito away.

              2. Feeding children with bottle put them at risk of diarrhea.

              3. Defecating in an open field will lead to parasitic infection.

              4. Illegal sexual behaviors expose people to unwanted STDs.
