A. Learning objectives
After learning activity 2, you are expected to be able to:
1. Understand arithmetic sequences,
2. Determine the nth element of an arithmetic sequence,
3. Understand arithmetic series,
4. Determine the sum of the first n terms of an arithmetic series.

Finding Arithmetic Sequence Concepts
Illustration 1
The amount of your pocket money for grade 1 elementary school is 5000, then your pocket
money when you're in grade 2 elementary school increases to 7000, then your pocket money
when grade 3 elementary school increases to 9000, and so on. If you pay attention, your pocket
money increases every year, which is 2000. The order is 5000, 7000, 9000,…
Now, the order of the amount of pocket money that always increases constantly (has a
constant pattern of increase) is what represents the concept of an arithmetic sequence.
