Truth and Freedom. Milton and Kant. Reason versus Transcendence. Kant’s transcendence and noumenism is akin to Milton’s, where our minds determine reality. As for Milton as for Kant, freedom is beyond Determinism, Obedience and Morality. However, Kant’s world of Numena is secular while Milton’s world revolves around God. In this sense, Kant is bound in metaphysics while Milton is boundless in God’s Love, his true freedom.
