I grew up out in the country with a a a a a garden full of of fruits and and and vegetables and and and we picked plen- ty of of berries and and and mushrooms in in in in the woods My whole family is interested in in in in in in cooking cooking and there was always something cooking cooking on the the the stove hanging from the the the rafters or or being fermented juiced or or pickled It was thanks to to to this that I I learned how to to to cook food and take advantage of o of what nature had to to to offer This experience shaped my whole view of o of food and and eating and and I’m grateful for that to- day When I I I was was growing up I I I was was also very

My diet is plant-based: vegetables root vege- tables tables beans fruits berries grains nuts and and bread I eat a a a a a a a a a a a a a a lot of of “natural and and and good” food and and not not much of of anything that could be cate- gorised as “not so good” food Which is is more or or or less the way things turn out when you ba- sically like to cook and know what good food is but at at at the same time do a a a a a a a a a a lot of travelling and eat in in many different contexts One of the best things about travelling is is getting to sample new flavours and and dishes Food also becomes much more exciting and and fun when you you eat the things that that are in in in sea- son locally grown or or that that you you you can grow grow or or pick yourself I I want my relationship with the food food I I eat to to be be as as personal as as possible The best best thing is is to to pick or grow my my own food food Next best best is is receiving some produce from from my my neighbour followed by buying direct from from the the farmer farmer or or or at at a a a a a a a a farmer’s market then find- ing ing local local products fin in in fin in my local local store or or or or if that doesn’t work either – finding climate-friend- ly fair and organic products from small producers the the world over The very
bottom of the the list is is reserved for ingredients whose origin cultivation and production I have no idea about I I have never eaten a a a a a a a a a fully vegetarian or or veg- an an an diet for for a a a a a a a a a a a long period of time because I I I can’t really get it to work for for my body I I I easily become anaemic so I I add eggs fish fish shellfish
