Do you you you know the the the the the the feeling feeling of standing on on on on the the the the the the summit looking out over the the the the landscape and and contemplating the the the uphill climb that that just took you you there? I love that that feeling! But usually you you you don’t stay for very long at at the the the summit Its actually on on on the the the climb where you you spend most of the the time The downhill is much faster!
It’s definitively hard to to run uphill There- fore I’ve always strived to to to make it it as as comfort- able as as possible – tried to to find my drive the ultimate and most efficient running running stride up- hill As I I love running running in in in in in in in the the mountains I’ve been trying to develop a a a a a nice feeling in in in in in in in the the the the body during the the the part that takes the the the longest As with most things things things I think Things you you you do a a a a a a lot things things things you you you you like or things things things that could take you you you you to to to to places where you you you you want to to to to be You have to to to to do what you you can to to to to make these things as as good as possible The summer when I I started to identify as a a a a a a a runner in in in 2009 I I I worked in in in Turtagrø Turtagrø Norway in in in in the reception at at Turtagrø Turtagrø hotel I I I mostly ran uphill uphill I I felt that uphill uphill running was a a a a a a a good way way to to build strength for for running in in in in a a a a a a a a a a comfortable way way and I I decided to to to to trust that feeling I I I wanted to to to to train my body to to to to be able to to to run run every day I I enjoyed running so much that this became my only goal Turtagrø is is at at 900 metres above sea level and sometimes I I hitchhiked down to to the the the fjord to to to run back Other days I I ran all all the the the the way up to to the the the 1400 1400 metres metres tall Sognefjellet 20 kilo- metres metres with a a 1400 1400 metre metre metre climb Sometimes I I feel the best flow when I I run uphill uphill which might seem a a bit contradictory when you think of how the word uphill uphill is used symbolically in in in our everyday language The term flow is not usually the first thing that comes to mind when you think about about uphill running I I have thought about about why I I still experience such a a a a a a a a positive feeling Maybe because of of the the the euphoria of of getting into a a a a a a a a a state where the the the heavy breath and the the the grinding legs are in in in in a a a a a a a a perfect perfect perfect symbiosis The perfect perfect perfect within the the the non-perfect makes it it it it great Maybe it it it it is is is the the the ability to focus on on the the the simple part of what is is in actual fact heavy UPHILL 71
