87. ROCKINGHAM TREACLE GLAZED POTTERY SNUFF TAKER. 10ins tall. Full figural of portly period clad gent sat on tree stump, both hands held forward. Complete with hat/ stopper. This is a well modelled early variant c. 1860-70, with variating/ crudely applied brown shiny glaze. Apart from in manufacture faults - no damage. (9-5/10) NR £30-40+

(APL p183). 2.85 ins diam. A wonderfully sophisticated design with an abundance of decorative swirls & bordered areas highlighting seven lines of writing. The only recorded Landport (Hampshire) pot lid. tiny bit of edge wear & bottom edge glaze flaw. (9/10) NR £60-80+
