685. DAWBER LINCOLN ALE TYG. 5.5ins tall, t.t., very highly variating salt glaze, c.1840. A three greyhound handled, wide mouthed, tyg featuring a wonderful range of individual sprigs (all 3 sides on easyliveauction.com - click on them to enlarge). One depicts a smoker/ drunk bottle impressed ‘Dawber/ Lincoln’, another a drayman next to a large barrel ‘‘Barclay Perkin’, the last a large horse drawn dray each barrel marked ‘R D L’. Another example recorded from the Lady Elizabeth Cavendish Estate sale held @ Bamfords. A good quality piece with an old stapled/ re-added section which adds to its appeal. 683. MORTLAKE TANKARD. 6.6ins tall, straight sided dark bodied t.t. handled tankard (very thin rim, minor nicks) with classic hunting sprigs, c. 1820. This fabled London Borough pottery started in 1759 but did not become a Kishere establishment (in premises across the road) until 1792., finally closing in 1843. The distinctive features make Kishere items instantly recognisable, much revered
