Ointment was sold by the Alfreton chemist and farmer, Henry Neale who traded from Greenhill Lane up

Black transfer, VEGETABLE UNIVERSAL/ OINTMENT, several lines of writing. Morison’s Vegetable Ointment dates to c.1880 and was available in two sizes: Chips - see easylive close up detailed pictures. (8/10) NR £40-60+
Dr Wrights ointment was initially sold by the Dudley merchant, Abiathar Hawkes at the end of the 18th century before the recipe passed to Zaccheus Hunter sometime in the early 1800s. There are numerous variations of these known due to colour, pricing and product description. This grouping dates to c.1870 and the different coloured transfers properly denote a slightly different formula or strength for specific diseases.
