187. ENGLISH 1724 DATED SEALED SMALL FLAT SIDED ONION BOTTLE.
6.7ins tall. An outstanding example of its type. Dark green/ black glass, overall
mallet shape with sides paddled flat. Retains full glass sheen, lovely neck striations,
small body bubbles etc. Unusual tooled lip with thin pointed string rim (tiny pinhead
nick otherwise superb). Very well struck
shoulder seal IS (backwards S) 1724. Note:
p 602/3/ Burton with seals dated 1723
& associated with Yorkshire, Dumbrell
illustration p76. The letters are most likely
LS? Deep base kick up, pontilled. Various
base labels inc. David Walker Barker tiny
hand written ones, plus 2 additional hand
written background sheets of Davids
