• Aligned strategies, goals, and member support from CGSA and NGCOA
Canada.
• Option to earn Certification for meeting the Sustainable Golf Standard for

and strengthening communities.
SETTING THE TREND
The sustainable golf community is large, diverse and international. For
example, the sustainable.golf portal includes a Highlights hub featuring
more than 2,000 “Highlights,” or mini case studies, from golf facilities
around the world. Together they present Canadian facilities with the
opportunity to share their own successes, but also to learn from real-world
practices and achievements from peers in this global golf community.
The first GEO Certified® golf course in Canada is the Mickelson National
Golf Course in Calgary, Alberta. “The
sustainable golf community is vibrant
and interconnected,” said Robin
Sadler, MS, Superintendent at
Mickelson National. “Through the
Highlights hub, we share innovations
and practices, fostering collaboration
across facilities worldwide. It’s a no-
cost opportunity to inspire and learn
from real-life examples, strengthening
our collective impact.”
Further west, British Columbia’s
Sun Peaks Golf Club has joined in the
same international dialogue. By
