Back in Person and Back with a Bang!
The tradeshow was packed with networking, conversation, and industry leading products.
Horvath, Dr. Thomas Nikolai, Thomas Bastis, Matthew Gourlay, CGCS, MG, AGS, and Ron Townsend on the schedule, the delegates were bound to be pleased with the variety and level of education. Thank you once again to Syngenta for sponsoring the education sessions.
HIGH OCTANE ONLINE AUCTION
The online auction was a great success! Participation was consistent throughout the week. Thank you to Toro, BrettYoung, Precision Laboratories, Belchim, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, AGSA, Target Specialty Products, BCGSA, Vancouver Art Gallery, Turf Prophit, Arbourdale, and Rain Bird for donating to the auction. An extra
special thank you to The Toro Company for generously donating a GTX Workman Lifted with a retail value of $22,000. Congratulations to John Scott, AGS who walked away with that prominent item! Thank you to everyone that bid on items and supported the CGSA.
FUN FILLED SOCIAL EVENTS
The SociALL kicked off the social aspect of the week. Delegates went to the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s, Roof Room, for some great food and networking. Thank you to BrettYoung for sponsoring the event and supporting the industry. The Assistant Superintendent Social followed the SociALL event at Steamworks Brewpub, in Downtown Vancouver. Dain Mikulic organized this fantastic event. Thank you, Dain! The final social outing was held at Good Co. Bar, sponsored by Rain Bird. This was an evening of laughs competition and good old-fashioned fun! Jeff Calderwood challenged the outgoing CGSA president Pierre Vezeau, AGS to a ping-pong match and it was a friendly competition that added much ambiance to the night.
SOLD-OUT AWARDS LUNCH
The sold-out awards lunch, sponsored by Envu, was a testament to the support of colleagues throughout the turf industry. Stand out members were presented with
much deserved accolades from the 2022 year, including Brian Youell, MS, AGS John B. Steel Award; Jim Flett, AGS CGSA/ENVU Superintendent of the Year Award; Dain Mikulic, the CGSA/Toro Assistant Superintendent of the Year Award; Rob Wilke, the CGSA/Rain Bird Environmental Achievement Award winner and Kyle Francis, the CGSA/Foley Company Equipment Technician of the Year Award. It is great to receive an award in a room full of your peers and family. As always, it was an emotional ceremony.
CANADA’S LARGEST TURFGRASS TRADESHOW
The dynamic tradeshow was buzzing with energy! Representatives from every facet of the industry set up booths to chat about their latest and greatest. Lunch on the tradeshow floor gave delegates an opportunity to have a quick bite while browsing the endless opportunities on the floor. Thank you to all the vendors that participated, it means so much to have you available for the delegates to network with and ask questions.
