with the AGSA, learning the ropes so to speak, and it was such a rewarding experience. The Past Presidents that I was fortunate enough to work with provided the friendship and wisdom that set me down this path. The Alberta Superintendents have always been very supportive of my time as Alberta Director, and I thank them for that.
My journey in the turf industry has been an interesting one. From where it all started in Winnipeg at St. Charles Country Club, to heading north for eight great years at Mountain View Golf Club in Whitehorse. Then, back south in Medicine Hat for seventeen seasons, to a little farther north in Edmonton at Blackhawk Golf Club. I would not change a thing.
The golf courses are always fun, but it is the people both on and off the course that you remember. From basketball, ringette, hockey, and golf, I thank all those who supported and helped get me to this position. My family has been dragged around Western
Canada but have always been there to support and pack up as we embarked on our next venture. Thanks to Kara and the girls; Erin, Holly, and Delainey!
I have always served to grow our profession in the golf industry, and I do not feel our work is done yet. We must continue to enhance the profile of the Superintendent role through our many programs at the CGSA and come up with new initiatives to further that cause. I look forward to seeing many members across our great country this year and hope I can have a small influence in your career, because you never know what path your journey will take you on! GM
