Many golf clubs are challenged with finding innovative ways to generate value for our membership and revenue for the club. Add to the mix the operational challenges of COVID that golf course owners and operators are all too familiar with, such as multiple shutdowns, dining operations being halted, operating at less than capacity, and staff shortages, all of which make generating value for membership increasingly difficult.
At St. Thomas Golf & Country Club, we decided to get excited by these challenges, as it has provided a platform for growth and learning in our business. With indoor dining being temporarily closed, and with many Canadian families struggling to find exciting and interactive group outings, we decided to take our experiences online.
We were motivated to come up with a fun evening event that would have members and

staff interacting in a way that indoor restrictions would limit. This would be an evening where members could be in the comfort and safety of their own homes, while feeling the fellowship and excitement of the other members who joined in. Additionally, we would be providing a learning experience for everyone to partake in by offering a step by step, Chef directed cooking class along with a guided wine tasting.
