Rhett Evans, GCSAA CEO, shared the experience of
his journey to the top of the world on Mt. Everest.
This year’s Canadian Golf Course
Management Conference (CGCMC)
was hosted in partnership with the
Ontario Golf Superintendents’
Association, and for the first time,
was held in the spectacular city of
Niagara Falls. Delegates and suppliers
were treated to an amazing
experience at the Niagara Fallsview
Casino Resort and were provided
with a great setting to listen, learn,
laugh, and play. Thank you to all the
sponsors and everyone who attended
and made this event a success.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
Syngenta was once again the
exclusive education sponsor,
resulting in a stellar speaker line-up.
The conference kicked off with a
journey to the top of the world as
Rhett Evans (CEO of GCSAA) shared
his experience of summitting Mount
Everest. His captivating talk had
everyone on the edge of their seats
as he had the audience ready to
‘Harness their Power’ and ‘Lead Out’.
Phenomenal educational presen-
tations filled the agenda for the
remainder of the conference with
topics ranging from pest manage-
ment, growth potential, workplace
culture, course renovations, and turf
disease identification/treatment. The
CGCMC continues to pride itself on
offering first class educational
opportunities to its delegates and
this year’s rendition stayed true to
that commitment.
ONLINE AUCTION
This year’s online auction once again
provided a great opportunity for
attendees to bid on a variety of
products that could enhance their
operations.
Thank you to all the companies
and regional associations who
donated to the auction. It could not
be done without you.
A special thank you to The Toro
Company for once again donating a
GTX Series Workman Utility Vehicle.
Congratulations to everyone who
took home a prize at a great deal.
SOCIAL EVENTS
As with every CGCMC, the
opportunity to socialize and network
were first class. This year’s Welcome
SociALL was held at the Niagara
Parks Power Station Museum on
Tuesday evening. Delegates had the
opportunity to experience The
Tunnel, located 180’ below the power
station. The 2200’ walk down the
