From February 25-27, 2025, we celebrated Canada’s top in the turf industry during the Canadian Golf Course
Management Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The revered recipients were recognized during the Awards luncheon
and were further honoured throughout the rest of the conference. Thank you to ENVU for sponsoring the awards

Reid Solodan, AGS, Canmore Golf & Curling Club, Alberta
2024 CGSA/ENVU Superintendent of the Year
Reid started his career in the golf course management profes-
sion 36 years ago. He has been a CGSA member since 1994 and a
Superintendent at Canmore G&CC since 2004. He is dedicated to
both the national and provincial associations by serving on many
committees and hosted the 2021 West Fall Field Day. Reid was the
recipient of the 2019 CGSA/Rain Bird Environmental Achievement
Award, the 2020 CGSA/Toro Gordon Witteveen Award, and the
2023 AGSA Walt Gooder Distinguished Service Award.

Sean Leach, Point Grey Golf & Country Club, British Columbia
2024 CGSA/Toro Assistant Superintendent of the Year
Josh Tubbs, Senior Marketing Director of the Toro Company,
presented Sean with the award. Sean was recognized for his
performance and contributions to his golf facility by demonstrating
his professionalism, outstanding leadership, innovations and work
ethic. He has been a CGSA member since 2015 and in the turf
industry since 2010.

Robin Sadler, MS, AGS, Mickelson National Golf Club, Alberta
2024 CGSA/Rain Bird Environmental Achievement Award
Erica Beck, Golf Area Manager Canada, Rain Bird International,
Inc. presented Robin with his award for his environmental
stewardship. As Master Superintendent, Robin led his team to
become the first golf club in Canada to achieve the GEO
Sustainable Golf Certification. He has also implemented
environmental initiatives such as creating a grass clippings
separation system, using precision watering techniques, and
shifting to a lithium powered golf cart fleet. Robin has been a
CGSA member since 1995 and currently sits on the CGSA
Accreditation Committee.
