2024 CGSA/Prairie Turf Equipment Technician of the Year
Bev was honoured as a team player, innovator, leader, highly
skilled technician, and a professional Equipment Manager. Bev
was recognized for his outstanding contributions to his golf club
as well as the industry.

2024 CGSA/Toro Gordon Witteveen Article of the Year
Josh Tubbs, Senior Marketing Director of the Toro Company
presented Sean with the award for his article in the 2024
GreenMaster Winter Issue titled “Heron Point Golf Links: Return
of the Eagle”. This article illustrates how golf and nature can
harmoniously exist. Sean has been at Heron Point since 2019.

Jim McGarvey, AGS, Emeritus, former Superintendent of 28
years at the Seymour Golf & Country Club, British Columbia
2024 John B. Steel Award
Jim volunteered for several provincial and national committees
since becoming a CGSA member in 1990 and served many boards
including as the 2023 CGSA President and the 2006 WCTA
President. He received the 2013 CGSA Superintendent of the Year
award as well as the 2006 BCGSA Superintendent of the Year
award. During his career, Jim was always committed to supporting
and mentoring his peers with his professional, approachable
manner and led his teams by example.
