Combination of approaches
Any effective training program must involve a variety of training experiences, including formal sessions with all staff covering off things like Club policies and procedures, and Legislative requirements (in Ontario need to include workplace harassment, health and safety, etc.); job shadowing with your “experienced “ staff; and a solid Employee Manual that candidates can take home and review carefully.
Good training is never just one initiative, it is a combination of well thought out programs.

Like-minded New
hires Succeed!
We like to focus on hiring like-minded individuals that have excitement about their future. Even if they plan to move on to other ventures after working a summer at the golf club, we look for individuals that want personal growth in life. These are typically going to be the best employees versus those simply seeking a pay cheque. The good hires research our golf club online and look for things like our community involvement and our core values. We typically build our website and social media sites more for our Members and Guests, but I have noticed that potential employees (especially the good ones) are researching online to see if a business’ core values align with their own. This is where we find our like- minded new hires.
