  If you’re like most of the population, it’s probably going to be the second. Unless you happen to know and follow the author of the first. Why? I can give you 2,454 reasons why and they’re all reviews. It’s important for your book to have as much social proof as possible.
Reviews help your Amazon Ads Convert. I don’t advertise any books that don’t have a minimum of five reviews with a rating of 4 stars or higher.
Amazon’s Book Review Policy is one they take very seriously. No "Pay- to-Play" and I’ve even seen them go so far as to web-scrape social media profiles to see if you’re connected to your reviewers just to make sure it’s not just your friends hopping on with a nice review.
How do you get social proof for your book?
There’s a lot of obvious ways to get reviews that everyone mentions:
1. Email your subscriber list
2. Post on social media
3. Beg people in FB reviewer groups to review your book
