Forming the Planning Team

While we considered submitting a joint proposal with an clubhouse architectural firm, we ulti-
mately decided against it. We believe it is in the best interest of the club to find the best design
firms that fit the Club’s requirements, then bring those firms together to formulate the compre-
hensive Master Improvement Plan for the clubhouse, clubhouse campus and golf course. This
allows you to assemble the most talented teams and not a pre-packaged arrangement built for
convenience. As expressed through our initial draft designs, we are excited about an artful
transition between the Club’s future indoor and outdoor spaces. We understand
the overriding importance of the architecture - and the sequence and support of this architec-
ture from parking to patio by the landscape and golf course.

Following your first round of discussions with clubhouse architects, we would be pleased to
hear your Committee’s thoughts on a preferred partner for our team.

Please note that during the preparation of the RFP document, we have already consulted with
the following area professionals, whom are both interested in lending their golf, agronomic, and
Fairfax County, Virginia expertise to the planning process:

                                                                       Jeff Michel
                                                                       M&M Consulting Inc.
                                                                       PO Box 71
                                                                       Warrenton VA 20186
                                                                       540-229-0134
                                                                       jeff.mmcons@gmail.com

          Planning Compensation
The RFP asks for a compensation package from our firms in preparing the Master Improvement
Plan. Specifically a proposed budget and detailed cost breakout is requested. We respectfully
suggest you interview all firms, select the best firm for Mount Vernon Country Club based on your
review of the qualifications and appropriateness of each firm to your Master Improvement Re-
quest. Then negotiate a fee when the scope, projects, and timeline are better defined. We are
more comfortable with this approach than trying to estimate how much time will be required on
          this very comprehensive planning project.

We hope you will take our suggestion in the spirit it is given.
