PRESENTATION:
1. Review the terms octocoral, soft coral, hard coral,
polyp, tentacles, and colony.
2. Remind the students that octocoral polyps (soft
corals) have eight tentacles. Hard coral polyps
have tentacles in multiples of six.
3. Have students work out the Tempting Tentacle
Problems individually or in pairs.
FOLLOW‐UP/EXTENSION:
Have students make up their own Tempting Tentacle
Problems!
