Nestled in the Heart of Natchitoches
Named after the Natchitoches Tribe, the city of Natchitoches has a rich history that dates back to the indigenous people who lived in north central Louisiana long before European explorers arrived in the 1700s. Pronounced Nack-a-tish, the area is the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Spanish, French, and Native American influences can be seen in the community’s architecture, heritage, culture, and festivals.
Conveniently located on the I-49 corridor, the city is one-hour south of Shreveport and forty-five minutes north of Alexandria. Natchitoches is famous for its meat pies, historical sites, annual Christmas Festival, the Cane River, and Northwestern State University.
Natchitoches Parish consistency ranks as one of the best small towns to visit or to retire in. Discovery House benefits from the being located in Natchitoches, an ideal community for health and wellness.
