potential for intergenerational readership, especially for families

sheltering in place during COVID-19. Her grand nieces and

nephews among her toughest critics, and ranging in age from 7 to

16, represent the appeal of Hmmm to different age demographics.

Reviewers can take up opposing positions. For example,

Mina age 16 recommends that the images be more reflective of the

storyline. Mara age 10 offers that the creative pictures really give

you an understanding of what the story is trying to tell you.

I thought the storyline was pretty original and cool.

I find that the kids I babysit for understand and enjoy the story

more when the pictures are more reflective of the storyline. I did

really like the touch of how the humming parts were in a different

font and color.

I think this book is for an age bracket that I am no longer in. I

think that younger kids may like the book, but it wasn’t my kinda

read.
