YBPW Yasmin’s Father is the President of the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee
and had been representing the nation as such, at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Before they
went back home, we were able to have a few days together showing them around Bristol
and meeting with some friends.
Finally, last week I represented BPW UK at the Women’s Budget group (https://
www.wbg.org.uk/about-us/4-nations/ ) with BPW UK NI member Jeanette Thornton, at the
two-day conference entitled “ Care, Women and a New Economy – A 4 Nations Confer-
ence”). This took place in Belfast, and again the BPW UK NI members took very good care
of me, with airport pick-ups, food, accommodation at Jacqui McLoughlin’s lovely house and
an opportunity to discuss what they are doing within BPW UK NI. Thank you for the wel-
come hospitality. You will have an opportunity to read about this, and other events that
members have taken part in over the summer break further in this month’s edition.
We talk about how we can actively still be involved with shaping policy at all levels.
We have listed a great variety of zoom and in person events for us to attend. I have regis-
tered and been accepted for the Bank of England official “Get involved” campaign. I have
shared the link below, but I am looking forward to understanding more about how we can
be a part of this conversation, in the feedback the Bank of England give our government.

Finally, I would like to thank past BPW UK Finance Officer Sue Holtom for the work
that she has done for us all as a member of the FEC for the last two years. Sue has decid-
ed to take a back seat for a while, but we wish her well, and I am sure many of you will
continue to enjoy seeing the exciting trips that she takes with fellow SEW member Jackie
Franklin on Facebook. The FEC welcomes YBPW member Yasmin Knight to this role, and I
am sure you will all support her as she settles into this job over the coming weeks.
Please note that we have a new phone number for any enquiries, as we move to a
virtual BPW UK office. I will hold a donated mobile phone, and as always will be happy to
talk to you all. The number is 07442112472
The old land line phone number will no longer be available, but I am sure many of
us will still ring PNP Ann Wiseall when we need to know all things BPW UK!
Best Personal Wishes
