2023 Basic Science Resident Award Recipient
Lily Kim, MD
Stanford University
Lily Kim, MD, is a current fifth-year
neurosurgery resident at Stanford
Department of Neurosurgery with an
interest in neuro-oncology,
immunotherapy, and skull base surgery.
She earned her undergraduate degree in
Human Biology with distinction from
Stanford University. Continuing her academic journey at Stanford, she
obtained her M.D. from the Stanford School of Medicine, where she
discovered her passion for neurosurgery.
In addition to her current research focus on immunometabolism, Dr. Kim’s
research interests over the years have encompassed bioinformatics/
computational biology, AI, and clinical epidemiology. She has authored over
40 peer-reviewed publications and has presented at multiple national
scientific meetings. Currently, she is investigating ways to enhance
immunotherapy for various CNS malignancies under Dr. Michael Lim’s
mentorship.
Beyond her research, Dr. Kim actively participates in national neurosurgical
leadership, serving as a CSNS Socioeconomic Fellow, WINS Resident
Executive Board Diversity Committee Co-Chair, and CNS Resident
Committee Member.
