Over the winter, the public speaking competition will be taking place and
we hope to be able to bring the final of the competition to Conference, and Ann
Wiseall tells me that this is what has happened in previous years. It will be great to
see how these young people grow during the area heats, and to hear the final of
the competition. As I have not yet been to Belfast, I am looking forward to the
warm welcome the club will no doubt extend to all members, but also to those
friends and colleagues we hope you invite to come along as well. We know about
the benefits of BPW, but how many do you share this with? We are growing, and
we want to extend the membership to those in our social and work networks.

I continue to work with the European Ukraine support group led by Amelie
LeClerc, and you will hear more about the work that BPW Poland is currently doing.
As the winter comes, I continue to be amazed at how these communities pull to-
          gether to help each other.

Last year we reported on COP 26 in Glasgow, and this week we have COP
          27. We will monitor the progress but are frustrated that so many agreed actions
from previous COPs have still to be put into action.

Do not forget that you have a voice; please write to local and national politi-
cians to tell them what you think of this inaction. As I sign off this month, I ask
you, how will you use the voice you have? ◼
