Sierra Mar District clubs have been engaged in fundraising over the summer months.
Our El Monte club had a fundraiser partnering with Vons Credit Union. Vons provided lunch of
fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and drinks, and El Monte club provided desserts for sale.
People were thrilled to participate, and the club raised a significant amount of funding.
In addition, East Los Angeles-Montebello club held a Tea Party event. The setting was
the Boys and Girls Club in Monterey Park. It was quite an affair with fancy hats, tea party food
and, of course, tea. There were tea party games and lots of wonderful desserts for auction.
East Valley club has been active in terms of leadership in the person of Sally McMahan.
Sally is past president of Sierra Mar.
We are all saddened by the passing of Marjory Hopper and Lynn Brandstater.
