Laser Ride Height Sensors can be used for a lot more than just Ride Height
“Laser Triangulation Sensors” are generally known in motorsport as “Lasers” and used specifically for measuring the
ride height of a vehicle in testing or competition. However, the incredibly high performance of these sensors and their
mode of operation allow them to be used in many more applications. A White Paper will be published on the KA
website early in 2018 providing more details regarding the use of Laser Sensors in motorsport.
Meanwhile, the following provides some background which will be included in the White Paper:
Key Laser Sensor Capabilities:
Large Measurement Range - up to 20ʺ
High Vibration Operation - 20g at 10kHz
Fast Response Time - up to 400Hz (higher possible)
Resolution - up to 0.0008ʺ
Linearity - up to 0.02% FS
Wide Operating Temperature - up to 225°F
Replaceable Lens Cover - to extend operational life
