THESIS ABSTRACT

For my Design Literature Review I wrote about the Impact of

User Experience and User Interface Design. Personally, as
somebody who uses a smartphone every day, I’ve become inter-

ested in the design behind the social media apps which I use

daily such as Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Tik Tok etc., I’m con-
scious of how much of an impact both UX and UI design has on

us users to keep us interested in apps and altering our decision

making for the advantage of the social media company, with the

use of numerous different interesting methods, but I am in-
trigued to research deeper into this topic. User Experience

Design (UX Design) and User Interface Design (UI Design) has a

massive impact on today’s world of technology and the use of
smartphones. User Experience Design is basically the method of

understanding the behaviour of the user through effectiveness,

attractiveness, and usability providing communication along with
a product. User experience design includes conventional hu-

man–computer interaction design and expands it by tackling all

parts of a product or service as identified by the user. Whereas,
User Interface Design is the design of user interfaces for mainly

software’s and devices, such as pcs, smartphones, and other

electronic devices, with the emphasis on maximizing usability

and the user experience. The aim of user interface design is to
make the user's interaction as straightforward and effective as

possible.
