                                               Notation  Sketchwork and notation go hand in hand.  In design sketching the use of  notation is required either as a note to the sketcher for future reference or  as a way of communicating to a third party.  Together with sketching it is  essential that writing is legible and does not detract from the sketchwork.   There are standards that govern notation, most notably BS-8888 and       ISO 3098 / 1B.
