Design Hyposthesis Problem Overview

Government figures show one in six medical appointments in the

Republic are missed costing the State €20m per annum, primarily

due to oversight and forgetfulness. The highest rate of DNA occurs

among 10-14yo, and those 65 and over. Impacts include reduced

efficiency and need of rescheduling within the system, and de-

layed medical response. By implementing an informed human

centred intervention based on design-led research to increase

compliance for crucial appointments, associated costs and im-

pacts can be remediated.
