PROJET 4: DESIGN FOR FORM & STORY BRIEF
Instruction:
Title: Design Futures - 21st Century Form and Story • Select a category from the by Design Series as a start point for further
research .
• Engage initial pilot research to scope and establish opportunity; to undertake
an Industrial Design action.
Objectives:
• Identification of opportunity; via pilot study. • Using Design Process Framework for guidance, commence your research.
• Research & evidence for user requirement. • In proposing your final Industrial Design solution, attention MUST focus
• Identify/apply relevant sectorial, commercial regulative on form and detailing, but include:
limitations & constraints.
• Design hypothesis / Design brief. . user experience/interface (UX/UI), features & functions etc.,
• Story-telling; through form & detail. . component specification, manufacture, assembly etc.,
• Personal aesthetic; surface styling & form-factor. . material and finishes etc.,

Background:
Your role as a designer within society is not limited in responding simply to
commercial imperatives. Design skills acquired can be used to propose solution to
complex problems. This project aims to provide you opportunity to engage and use Design Series:
