This year has been the most testing year in my whole design career.

With Covid – 19 disrupting the standard educational system, we as
students had to adapt very quickly to new conditions, moving away

from our standard studio education experience to somewhere within

the space of our own homes produced problems with productivity. Styling

Society were easier to perform off campus and I feel that I took PSS
advantage of the resources available to make the most out of each of
these courses. The Advanced 3D Modelling module was my favourite Solution

throughout the year as my skills in solidworks and keyshot improved

greatly from where I started at the beginning of the year.

SWOT Analysis and ACCESS FM are two new skills I pickled up this

year in our Industrial Design module and these will improve my

analytical thinking process greatly in future projects. Sketching and Prototype Sketch

rendering were two areas I found very difficult to work on while being
at home. Digital submissions has helped me get more comfortable
with photoshop as I had to use it more to render and organise my

sketch work. Illustrator has been a tool I’ve used constantly

throughout this year and my fluency in the program has increased

Overall I am happy to say that this year was successful in my eyes,

even though my class and I were faced with adversity when the Communication

College had to close its gates, we all kept our heads down and

refused to let Covid take away our chances at an education this year.
