     Parts of a tap                                                           Common sink taps receive water from two pipes in the bottom of
                                                                                 the body. One pipe contains hot water, while the other one contains
                                                                                 cold water. Both pipes are connected to the cartridge, where they get
                                                                                 mixed. The proportion of hot and cold water mixed can be controlled
                                                                                 by rotating the lever connected from the top. Then, the mixed water
                                                                                 goes through the spout and the nozzle.
