Project 12 Overview

Brief

We were asked to choose a product to re-evaluated, refined and

subject to design update. Given three product areas we had to

choose one:

1. Electrical/electronic health/wellbeing/medical device,

2. Electric DIY hand tool,

3. Electrical office/kitchen gadget.

Chosen product

I chose to re-design an electrical kitchen gadget, the

Culinare one touch automatic can opener. Culinare's

Automatic can opener was advertised to be a handy gadget that

opens cans effortlessly with just one touch.

Rationale

The reasoning behind choosing this particular product was

because it was a new area for me to explore as I hadn't yet

redesigned a kitchen appliance and the internal components would

be different from anything previously done.
