Is your voice
SABOtAGING YOuR
Success?
Do you realize that your level of success, satisfaction or happiness is directly connected to your communication? Your ability to increase your influence, income and impact is not so much about how much you know......
But more about how you express what you know.
Have you ever wished you could be more effective in motivating others to action? Well, you can if you consider
what you’re about to learn and take the necessary steps to expand your communication capacity.
You may be like most women leaders and want to improve your speaking skills, and believe that it’s about
having the right content. After coaching 1000s of women and speaking for over 25 years, I am amazed at how most speakers don’t realize that their voice has a more significant impact on how their listeners perceive them and react to their message.
Take for example, Ella, who was confident with giving presentations, but found that she was not being taken seriously because her voice quality was weak and sounded like a young girl. She was passionate about
her topic, intelligent, but struggled with boardroom negotiations, being heard, and with motivating
audiences to action. She realized that her voice was sabotaging her success.
That’s when she enrolled in my Speak to TransformTM Digital Academy and learned about the two other important elements of communication. Within a short time, invitations to speak increased and her business grew after she applied the tools and shifted her focus from just practicing words to developing her vocal variety and physical presence.
The reality is that people make unconscious judgments about you, your intelligence, your confidence and your credibility based on how you show up and sound. Especially with virtual platforms such as podcasts, it is essential that you become aware of what your voice is doing when you’re speaking.
Research studies reveal that your words have only 7 % influence, whereas how you say the words and what your body is doing when you’re speaking make up the
other 93% influence.
Over 93 % of what influences your listener is beyond the words you say. As an executive speaking coach, I find that most women speakers have not been taught that their vocal cadence and body language play such a big role in influencing audience decisions and are keys to help them unlock their success.
