What is Collaborative Family Law?
It is an Alternative Dispute Resolution process
Parties work together with their registered Collaborative lawyers Legal issues are resolved outside of the courtroom
other team members include child or financial specialists
In the Collaborative Family law process:
Parties make their own decisions rather than leaving it up to a Judge
All discussions and meeting minutes are confidential
Parties are encouraged to treat each other fairly
Children’s interests are given first priority
Parties work together to come up with creative, win-win outcomes for their family A legally binding settlement agreement is signed
If applicable, parties jointly file for a desk divorce
