The 7 Habits are based on timeless and universal principles and are applied to
everyday life. The first three habits are “private victory” habits—they help the
individual become more effective on a personal level. The remaining habits are
evidence of the personal growth and will be seen when leaders reflect and practice
self-discipline in interactions with others. The 7 Habits go beyond character and
develop leadership skills rooted in workforce and life-readiness skills.
Industry leaders say the number one trait missing from the workforce is soft skills.
At Hazlewood Elementary, we believe that, with implementation of the 7 Habits,
students can be immersed in productive learning and engaging, interactive, student
led activities that will support them learning soft skills and making informed
choices about their future careers.
