The Alpha Kappa Alpha Badge – official insignia worn by a
member
• Worn over the heart on the outer garment of clothing

nearest the body
• Must not be transformed into another piece of jewelry

• Is not worn with formal attire, slacks, pant suits, sports
attire or shorts
• May be buried with a deceased Soror; placed in the custody of

a Soror; returned to the Corporate Office; retained by the
family. It is the chapter Basileus’s responsibility of making a

family aware of these options and informing the Corporate
Office of the decision.
Life Membership Pin

• Can be worn at the Soror’s discretion
• Must not interfere with the placement of the Sorority Badge
