Welcome Message
Dear EYFS and Primary Parents, Carers, Pupils and Colleagues
‘Let’s Connect’
‘Raising Children’s ental Health Awareness’
This EYFS and Primary Park Lane Press edition is full of pictures, reports and pupil’s work showing how well connected we are as an Early Years and Primary School even though nearly 350 pupils register each day over four separate school sites.
Boys and girls from Prague 6, Norbertov, Prague 6, Sibeliova, Prague 1, Valdstenjnska and P 5 Nad Bertramkou are all represented in this newsletter not only showing how much they enjoy their learning environment but also how much they gain from the school’s ‘hidden curriculum’ too.
As you well know, a typical Primary School class timetable shows how we teach the 10 British curriculum subjects and our Czech programme over 40 lessons in the a 5 day week. At Park Lane International there is also a ‘hidden curriculum’ constantly support and helping the children develop their personal, social, mental and emotional development.
The Early Year toddlers having fun at the fire station and The Azyzah Theatre, the Year 1 children enjoying the Jump Park and having a Superhero Day, our Primary pupils competing in the House Spelling Bee event and Basketball, Football, Pole Climbing and Chess fixtures against other schools all are given chances for the children to learn more above and beyond that in a ‘normal’ school day.
The whole school connected together as part of Children’s Mental Health Week last Friday. Please do enjoy looking at
these two links which I used in our Star Of The Week Assemblies on this day to raise the awareness of child happiness and contrasting depression. I hope you like the lovely child centred connection between a pink pig called Happiness and a black dog called Depression.
