My mother taught in the Seminole County public school system at Midway, Goldsboro, and Hopper Elementary Schools. She was also
the School Librarian at Jackson Heights Middle and at T.W. Lawton Elementary. Mother made it her goal to make sure I was culturally

reared. From the time I could walk and talk, my mother began my spiritual and cultural training.
