About PCIS
The PCIS (Philippine Centralized Information System) is a system that is
ready to be implement by the Philippine government to provide
computerization and automation services to the country's 42,000 barangays.
The goal of the program is to improve the delivery of services to citizens and
to enhance the management of barangay operations.
The PCIS system includes a software package that is designed to manage
various barangay-related tasks, such as:
Recording and maintaining information about barangay residents and
households
Managing barangay finances and budget
Keeping track of barangay-owned properties and assets
Recording and tracking barangay-related transactions, such as permits and
licenses
Providing a platform for barangay officials to communicate and
collaborate with each other and with other government agencies
The system is intended to be used by barangay officials, including the
barangay captain, the barangay council, and the barangay secretary. The
system can also be accessed by other government agencies, such as the
Philippine National Police, the Department of Health, and the Department of
Social Welfare and Development.
The PCIS system is based on a client-server architecture, with the software
package running on a central server or cloud server technology and accessed
by barangay officials through thin clients (computers with minimal hardware)
or personal computers. The system is intended to be easy to use, with a user-
friendly interface and minimal training required for barangay officials.
