                      TOPIC 2: ICON CONCEPT


                          The  definition  of  an  icon  is  a  graphic  representation  of  something,  a
                          person or thing that is symbolic or is a noted figure. An  example of an
                          icon is the "home" or "finder" icon on your computer. An example of an

                          icon is a beautiful celebrity who is the best example of the western ideal
                          of beauty.

                          Common  examples  of  semiotics  include  traffic  signs,  emojis,  and
                          emoticons used in electronic communication, and logos and brands used
                          by international corporations to sell us things—"brand loyalty," they call
                          it.


                          A  picture,  image,  or  other  representation.  Eastern  Church.  A
                          representation of some sacred personage, as Christ or a saint or angel,
                          painted usually on a wood surface and venerated itself as sacred. A sign
                          or representation that stands for its object by virtue of a resemblance or
                          analogy to it: an icon of womanhood.
