Too young they say
To know what we want
To know who we’re attracted to To understand the world
Old enough they say
To decide what to major in
To know what college we want To know our future career
But too young they say
To know we were born the wrong gender To be attracted to that boy
To be attracted to that girl
To be attracted to both
But old enough they say
To get a job
To be attracted to the opposite sex To start saving up our money
To share opinions with them
Too young
When it fits what they believe
But old enough
When it helps prove their point
