The Stress Mess
Mental health providers are aware of the stress factors that COVID-19 has presented to virtually everyone, in every industry. Their main concern is helping people manage anxiety while maintaining their state of well-being.
In times of crisis, many people experience varying de- grees of anxiety, which is defined as our response to a per- ceived threat that will likely occur in the future.
On a daily basis, all of us experience a relentless cycle of information via the news media or online new feeds. These stimuli trigger an enormous number of stressors re- lating to our day-to-day lives and how we will be impacted by the virus. Experts say that the best way to control our stress levels is to monitor how much time we devote to and focus on distressing input and our reactions to given information. We can control our mental state by filtering out tension-producing dialogue, news, or events, while focusing on the information that we require. If the news
